Trump Attacks Devoted US Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch

People react to the way President Trump handles the impeachment inquiry

As impeachment hearings for an embittered and combative President, Donald Trump got started back in mid-November. Testimony ranged from current Envoy to Ukraine William Taylor and George Kent, Deputy Assistant for the Bureau of European to Eurasian Affairs. President Trump was extremely irritated, attacking Marie on Twitter. Most Americans believe the testimony of all individuals will help deter this type of behavior from our Commander and Chief in the future.

Both Taylor and Kent testified in the impeachment hearings that there was a blatant attempt by President Donald Trump and his ‘cabal of advisors’ to get dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, to weaken Biden’s election chances over the President. Facts and testimony lean toward the fact there was active collusion between Trump, newly elected Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President’s advisor to smear the then U.S. Ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch.

But while Trump was silent about Taylor and Kent’s testimony, he came out gun’s blazing the following day on Twitter, blasting recalled Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, full-strength while she was testifying.

Trump blasted Yoganovitch on Twitter, saying, and I quote, “she was a disaster everywhere she served in the U.N during her 30 years of service.” Somalia to Ukraine was characterized as “witness intimidation” by key Democratic House members, and Representative Adam Schiff flat out called the Twitter tweet witness intimidation, which is also a federal crime. We salute you Adam Schiff!

For those who wondered why Kent and Taylor got a pass for fundamentally disagreeing with the President’s policies regarding Ukraine, but Yoganovitch would have to “go through some things” based on the smear campaign evidence spearheaded by Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani.

Writing for the Atlantic, journalist Molly Jong-Fast gave what was perhaps the best and poignant reason. Trump not only doesn’t believe in women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment but has monopolized a career of ongoing harassment towards all women.

 Overt hatred for women?

MS Jong-Fast, cites a litany of harassment of women, including journalists and television personalities Megan Kelly, Mika Brzezinski, Kathy Tur, celebrity Rosie O’Donnell, politicians Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, and several female members of congress.

She noted that Trump’s modus operandi is to go after anyone who doesn’t agree with whit him. However, noted women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment seem to be way down on the bottom of Trump’s priorities.

 Women and the United Nations

These actions are precisely the antithesis of what many nations, following the United Nations mandates for women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment, aspire to be.

Regarding the United Nations, the U.N. Security Council, this year, unanimously adopted a resolution urging member states to recommit themselves to Women, Peace, and Security, and Phumzile Miambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of the U.N. Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women declared:

“Progress is too slow, political will is not strong enough, and pushback against the needs and interests of women is threatening the progress made, and violent misogyny is on the rise, and political violence is targeting women at record levels.”

 Women Power Love Foundation

Only 23 percent of Congresspeople are women. Did you know that Nancy Pelosi is the only female to ever serve as Speaker of the House? Not only that, but just the slime number of nine women currently serve as governors. This organization feels that women have a long way to go toward gender equality and women’s empowerment.
